ESTs on human and mouse templates

The progress on the projects of full-length cDNA is introduced and updated in the NCBI (click here). Human and mouse full-length cDNAs represent the biggest collection and therefore serve as templates to organize to the chicken ESTs. The experimental works are expected to fully obtain the corresponding full-length cDNAs for chicken. The human and mouse templates are from three databases: NEDO, RIKEN and MGC. The alignment outputs of the chicken ESTs on the templates are available for display in tables below. The list of the reported chicken genes consists of all chicken genes confirmed by proofs in publications. The known chicken full-length cDNA table provides the experimentally verified chicken full-length cDNAs in public database. It contains more than 2000 sequences. A majority of them reported in this paper: Full-length cDNAs from chicken bursal lymphocytes to facilitate gene function analysis. Genome Biology, 2004, 6-R6.

A part of the above templates have corresponding human and mouse genes in the EMBL database. We identified the human and mouse genes using the alignment positions of the templates in the EMBL. The alignment positions are shown here. By searching the orthologous gene tables for human-chicken and mouse-chicken, the full-length templates could be linked to chicken genes in the EMBL. We made tables to contain the full-length templates, corresponding human or mouse genes, and orthologous EMBL chicken genes. The tables are available for download here.  These files from the EMBL are supplementary to the above method on the basis of EST alignment.
