The chicken full-length cDNA database was released in December, 2005.
Temporarily, it consists of 588739 (Jun. 2006 from NCBI) chicken ESTs on about 170,000 (Jun. 2006 from NCBI) templates of human and mouse full-length cDNAs and ORFs, 2327 known chicken full-length cDNAs, and 11,396 (Dec. 2007 from EMBL) reported chicken genes. In addition, 33,308 chicken genes (with redundancy) collected or predicted by the EMBL database (Jan. 2007) are given as supplement to the template-based output. The database provides functions of blast search and key word search to get information users interested.
