Admissions to BSc (Bioinformatics)
The Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics (JUPAS programme code 6470) is offered by the LKS Faculty of Medicine and hosted by the School of Biomedical Sciences, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering.
JUPAS Applicants
Preference is given to those who ranks the BSc (Bioinformatics) programme as a Band A choice. Candidates may be selected, on the basis of their school reference reports, academic results and Student Learning Profile (where applicable) to attend one interview to be held in June or towards late July after the announcement of the HKDSE results.

In addition to satisfying the University Entrance Requirements as listed at http://www.aal.hku.hk/admissions/local/admissions-information, candidates for admission shall satisfy all of the following requirements in HKDSE:

Achieve the level of performance in the four core subjects as below:

Attain a minimum of level 3 in 2 electives, with at least one elective subject in Biology or Chemistry or Combined Science with Biology component or Combined Science with Chemistry component.

"Best 6 subjects" principle will be applied to all candidates. The best combination of scores in any 6 subjects among Category A in one attempt will be used for selection.
Non-JUPAS Applicants
Overseas students or local students who are applying for admission on the strength of academic results other than HKDSE should submit their applications direct to the University through the Non-JUPAS Admissions Scheme. Interview
Both JUPAS and non-JUPAS applicants will be invited for an interview. Preference will be given to those candidates who place the Bioinformatics programme in Band A (JUPAS) or in the first rank (non-JUPAS).
