Nov 3 - 4, 2022 Admissions Talk

Our HKU Bioinformatics team recently gave two admission talks at two different secondary schools. We shared about how computational methods are used to reconstruct the past evolutionary history of organisms, including tracing the evolution of viruses such as SARS-CoV-2. Students were excited to learn how sequence data could be used in biomedical applications.

October to November, 2022 Bioinformatics Taster Lecture and Admission Talk for Prospective Schools and Students

To offer prospective students the opportunity to learn more about our undergraduate programme and to stimulate students’ interests in bioinformatics, we will organise a one-hour Taster Lecture and Admission Talk to introduce bioinformatics, career pathways, and admission requirements every year from October to November. If we receive request from schools, our academic staff are also happy to meet with their school’s career advisors and teachers to discuss on the programme details and the exciting career prospect of a bioinformatician.

Please contact us to arrange a bioinformatics talk at your school.
