Our HKU Bioinformatics team recently conducted admission talks at two secondary schools, where we discussed the application of computational methods in reconstructing the evolutionary history of organisms, including the tracing of viruses like SARS-CoV-2. The students showed great enthusiasm in discovering how sequence data can be utilised in biomedical contexts.
